Building a working prototype

We assemble, bring up and test a working prototype of your device. This is the last step before moving into series production.

What prototyping includes

  • Assembling the circuit board and the device's mechanical build
  • Bring-up and basic functional tests
  • Testing under conditions close to real-world operation
  • Identifying and fixing issues before series production

A prototype should answer specific questions

The first sample does not need to look like the finished product. Its purpose is to test uncertain parts of the design, such as measurement accuracy, communication, power consumption or controls. These goals determine the prototype and test procedure.

Work may include PCB assembly, power supply bring-up, firmware programming and measurements. If a problem appears, we investigate the circuit, board layout and software. Changes are recorded for the next revision.

Moving from a sample to production

After testing, we summarise verified functions, limitations and recommended changes. The result is more than a single working unit: it supports the decision to build another prototype, run a field trial or prepare production.

Small-batch production also requires repeatable assembly, component availability and final inspection. Testing requirements for the complete device depend on its intended use and target market.
